WHY ALERT EXISTS
Conventional monitoring is excellent at telling operators that a threshold changed. Jane Alert is designed to make those signals available to a persistent intelligence that can relate them to project knowledge, previous events, active investigations and other Jane applications.

THE JANE DIFFERENCE
A latency spike can be interpreted alongside a recent deployment, an earlier Verify finding, a configuration change, a similar historical event or an open Security investigation. The raw metric is the same; the available context is not.
MODULAR BY DESIGN
Jane Alert is an optional JaneOS capability, not a hard dependency. It can run standalone, alongside Jane Security, or inside a wider Jane environment. At startup it can discover other available Jane packages and integrate through defined interfaces without making those packages dependent on Alert.
Continuous operational monitoring and notification without requiring Jane Security.
Jane Security can analyse security information from other sources without requiring Alert.
Alert supplies continuous observation while Security supplies security analysis and investigation.
COMPETITIVE POSITION
Jane Alert is intentionally positioned as a modular sensory layer for Jane. Large observability suites can remain sources of telemetry. Alert's advantage is that operational signals can enter the same persistent cognitive environment used by Jane's memory, knowledge, attention and investigations, while remaining deployable as a small independent component.
